The Park Board is an advisory committee made up of seven (7) members selected by the Mayor with Board of Alderman approval. Each of the Board members shall be residents of the City of Oak Grove; there shall be an attempt to select two (2) members from each ward of the City. A member of the Board of Aldermen may serve on the Park Board. The terms of the members of the Board shall be for three (3) years but the terms of the first (1st) Board shall be varied so that succeeding terms will be staggered. The Board shall recommend a budget and submit it to the Board of Aldermen on an annual basis which shall outline the physical development of the parks and recreational needs of the City. The Park Board shall have the power necessary to enable it to perform its function of implementing the physical development of the parks and recreation for the City, including reviewing and approving special events permits for the use of the parks.
