Shane Shawbaker, Alderman Ward I, was appointed to fill the vacant seat of Cierra McMichael in August 2025.
He is a devoted husband to his beautiful wife, Breann Shawbaker, and proud father of three wonderful daughters. He has a strong commitment to family, community, and service in his new role.
Originally from a much larger metropolitan area, he moved to Oak Grove in 2019. From the moment he arrived, he was captivated by the town’s charm, warmth, and close-knit community spirit. What began as a move quickly became a deep-rooted love for Oak Grove and a passion to give back to the place he now proudly calls home.
Stepping into the role previously held by Cierra McMichael with immense gratitude for her service and a deep sense of responsibility to continue building on the foundation she laid. His focus as Alderman will center around transparency, listening to residents, and working collaboratively to ensure Oak Grove continues to thrive for generations to come.
